Mission Statement

The mission of the Flint Public Library is to inform, enrich, and empower every person in the community by creating and promoting easy access to a vast array of ideas and information, and by supporting an informed citizenry, lifelong learning, and love of reading. The Flint Public Library is interested in providing free and equal access to information in a variety of formats, in utilizing new technology, in furnishing environments and resources that respect the diversity of cultures, and in supporting and defending the principles of intellectual freedom, the Library Bill of Rights, and the Freedom to Read Statement.
